2010 Rosso di Napa
Double Gold Winner
2013 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition
Ca' Momi was thrilled to learn that we received a double gold medal from the 2013 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition for our 2010 Rosso di Napa! All of the gold medal winners were invited to an exclusive tasting event in San Francisco to pour award winning wines. The 2010 Rosso di Napa is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Petit Sirah from our vineyards in Napa Valley. It's considered a great, drinkable red with bright strawberry and raspberry flavors, a velvety texture and full mouth feel. It finishes softly with a medium-bodied and complex palate that is loaded with fruit. This is considered a great "food" wine, meaning that it is not overpowering and easily paired with many different dishes. We are especially proud to have taken the double gold with this one as it represents the best selection of our Napa Valley vineyards.
Harvest is in full swing, and our vineyard crew is tirelessly hand picking chardonnay fruit at our Carneros vineyard.
If you have ever harvested grapes, you will have an appreciation for the hard work and long hours that are demanded this time of the year.
Fortunately for our cellar and vineyard crews, the weather has been temperate, mitigating a long list of unwanted challenges.

Jimmy Smith (Ca’ Momi’s National Sales Manager) and owners Valentina Guolo-Migotto and Dario De Conti, headed east to meet the staff at Spec’s and share the full Ca’ Momi experience of wine & pizza!
Spec’s is a Texas based chain that specializes in wine, liquor, beer and specialty foods. they are also our retail partner in the Lone Star State.
Late last Friday, the trio took off in a Sprinter van full of supplies needed to keep it authentic and and share the experience. They even brought along a wood-fired oven while traveling the state to visit Spec’s retail hot spots including Dallas, Houston, Austin, San Antonio and the Woodlands
At each location Valentina, Dario and Jimmy engaged Spec's staff in making pizzas and of course eating them while tasting through all of Ca’ Momi wines.
Needless to say, it was a huge hit amongst the Spec's retail team and a lot of fun.
Ca’ Momi Winery has announced the release of its newest wine - a frizzante rosé called Ca’ Rosa Frizzante, which was produced in Napa from California grapes. This fun, lightly sparkling summer rosé will pair perfectly with a picnic at the beach, a day at the pool, or with a light dinner.
In 2007, Ca’ Momi Winery produced its first sparkling prosecco-style wine - Ca’ Secco Frizzante. Ca’ Rosa is its blushing companion. Ca’ Rosa is made from a blend of sauvignon blanc, chardonnay, pinot noir and muscat grapes, and has an alcohol level of 11.5%, making it easy to enjoy. This bright pink wine boasts a nose full of fruit such as pear, cantaloupe, pineapple and tutti frutti. On the palate you can identify strawberry, lychee and pear surrounded by tropical notes.
“Ca’ Rosa came as a result of the great success we have enjoyed with our Ca’ Secco Frizzante since its release in 2007” enthused Winemaker Dario De Conti. “Both of these wines are light-hearted and pair well with many foods. They are also the perfect accompaniment for relaxing in the backyard on a warm afternoon.”

A Heavenly Pairing for Dessert

MaryAnn Worobiec -
"The latest restaurant to join downtown Napa’s Oxbow Public Market is Ca’ Momi, a triple-threat enoteca, pizzeria and pasticceria. The area is not suffering from a lack of wood-fired pizzas (Azzurro and Oenotri, in particular, stand out), but it’s great to have Ca’ Momi as an option, especially in this bustling public market, where I can meet a friend for lunch and pick up some local groceries for dinner in the same trip.
I was there for lunch recently, sharing some tasty pizza with a friend (the Diavolo with spicy salame really hit the spot). Recovering from a cold, I opted for a bitter Italian soda and not a glass of wine with lunch. But when the topic of dessert came up, I was defenseless. Ca’ Momi’s pastries are heavenly, and a milk and honey custard oozing out of a cream puff pastry ring was suddenly before us with two forks.
Owner Dario De Conti suggested a glass of Ca’ Momi Moscato California 2008 ($5 a glass) with the dessert. (He is also the winemaker for the Ca’ Momi line of wines, which are distributed around the country.) As much as I love Moscato for its aromatics and refreshing carbonation, my previous experience with it as a dessert wine has fallen flat—it can overwhelm (or work jarringly against) a sweet dish. I tend to prefer a glass by itself.
I was right to trust Dario, because the dessert and the wine together could not have been more harmonious. The wine was wonderfully perfumed, with plenty of floral, peach and spice notes. It offered a refreshing foil to the rich dessert. The finish is what really sold me—the lingering creamy texture of the custard and the aromatics filling my mouth showed me that I should be more open-minded about Moscato’s potential. I rated it 87 points, non-blind."
